lyrics
He paused in a middle of a joke,
The smell of mice and dust was all over and outside the black pavement was wet from the spring rain giving something else to breathe to all the people in the room. Echoes of laughter eluded by the window.
He glanced at his collection of 7 inches, a form of art that he’ll pass on to his children. He got up, pins and needles in his legs and watched his audience still waiting for the punchline.
He needed a transition. He pointed out Pulp, not the zines, the book. “Some people just write stories till they die” he shouted, “and I have nothing that will keep me up to my old days”.
We ‘re Just a bunch of people addicted to multinational products waiting for nothing. We drink and eat shit.”
He became delusional. And stumbled as anger started to pour out of his body, his mouth being the fire exit.
Hey Henry, slow down, his sister said.
For once, I WILL NOT. He was standing, feeling the graciousness of the moment. As the world was listening to him.
He proceeded in the most epic way.
“Do you really think voting will change anything. You’re just damn fools.”
Any form of government in any country of this world does not seek the greater good. Fuck democracy. The state is not the right scale.
He felt like Moïse and was ready to go on a journey, travel from uni to uni to give the speech.
But the drugs kicked in bad, in a final stroke, he added “and don’t you think climate change is the ONE thing we could all agree on?” He fainted and fell hard.
The next morning, Henry forgot all about what he had said.
The thinking of a rotten democracy. The belief of being unique and a free thinker. He needed rest and so he did, working on some new jokes while the 5th season of the Sopranos was on in the background of his living room.
It's a departure from their previous work, with many songs actually "slower" than earlier records, but still bringing the same energy and feeling. le monsieur
Who says the french can't do some proper emo? Also awesome album opening with the Stand by Me references. The tracks are absolutely banging and the whole album is worth listening to. dominikgray
